April 2023 Update

This was a very good season for the Association. Most events were well attended, with over 60 people participating. Bingo has also done well. Here is a brief summary:

  • Bingo status: Bingo is still being offered through April!!!! So far, it has been surprisingly well attended. Each week there have been more people. The was attributed to marketing efforts on Next Door and in the Charlotte Sun. Hopefully this level of enthusiasm will continue through April.

  • Rib Dinner and Pie Bar Our March dinner exceeded all expectations, with 65 participants. They enjoyed a substantial rib and baked potato meal, a fun "pie bar" with ice cream and other toppings, and great entertainment as we played the "Couples Game." The winning couple, winning on the very last question, received $50.

  • Chicken Dinner The annual half-chicken dinner was a great success, with over 60 people attending. After dinner, everyone played two rounds of Bingo, with prizes of $50 being distributed.

  • Granma's Soup Dinner. This event exceeded all expectations, with 68 people participating. Trying different soups was fun and filling. The dinner was followed by a fun trivia night, engaging the audience as they tried to answer daunting trivia questions.

  • Jan Potluck Dinner. The January potluck dinner was well attended with over 30 people. Charlotte County Commissioner Stephen J. Deutsch attended and provided an interesting overview of his views about county growth and answered many questions from the membership.
